DOCX & XLSX Browser Editing Features
EditDocx is a browser editor for .docx and .xlsx, with DOCX, PDF, and XLSX export and 16 UI languages. Processing runs locally — files never leave your device.
Browser-based DOCX editing
Open .docx files directly in your browser and edit with a WYSIWYG interface. Create new documents, import files via drag-and-drop, and download your changes as DOCX — no desktop app required.
Browser-based XLSX editing
Open Excel .xlsx spreadsheets in your browser with multi-sheet tabs, cell editing, formulas, merged cells, column widths and row heights, and basic formatting. Import via drag-and-drop or File → Import, then download .xlsx when finished. Charts, pivot tables, images, and password-protected workbooks are not supported. See the Excel / XLSX no-upload use case, Excel Online alternative, Google Sheets alternative, and Excel no-signup pages for intent-specific guides.
Rich text formatting and styles
Apply bold, italic, underline, text color, highlighting, fonts, and font sizes. Work with paragraph styles, alignment, line spacing, indentation, and multi-level bulleted and numbered lists — preserving the formatting your DOCX already uses.
Tables, images, and page layout
Insert and edit tables with merged cells, borders, and cell shading. Add images with text wrapping, manage headers and footers, page breaks, and watermarks, and insert hyperlinks, footnotes, and a table of contents. Find and replace text across the document.
Review with tracked changes and comments
Turn on tracked changes to suggest edits, add comments, and accept or reject revisions — review documents collaboratively without needing desktop Word.
Private local storage
EditDocx does not upload your documents to any server. Imported files and explicit Ctrl/Cmd+S checkpoints can be stored in IndexedDB on your device; unsaved edits stay in memory. Use Download to create a local output file.
Export to PDF
Export your edited document to PDF with one click. Useful for sharing, printing, or archiving final versions without needing separate conversion tools.
Dark mode and themes
Switch between 2 color modes (light and dark) and choose from 3 color presets (Purple SaaS, Business Blue, Fresh Green). Preferences save locally in your browser.
Free with no signup
EditDocx is completely free to use. No account, no subscription, no credit card. Just open the editor and start working on your DOCX and XLSX files.
EditDocx targets everyday .docx and .xlsx work: memos, reports, budgets, and homework — not macro-heavy enterprise templates or chart-heavy dashboards. Open editdocx.net/editor, drop a file, edit locally, and download when finished. Compare Word Online, Google Docs, Excel Online, and Google Sheets alternatives, or follow the DOCX and Excel no-upload and no-signup use cases on the site.
